OK, I'm on a roll making stuff. I got some nano-see-um netting. 3yards x 48in. I want to make a half length net thing to go over me and my bag, kinda like the old Brawney net.
I was just going to fold the net over to go down around the bottom of my ribs and sew up the sides. Then put a draw string tube at the bottom for shock cord. Then a tie-out near the face.
Does this sound like a good plan. Any better ideas? Keep in mind, the last time I used a sewing machine was in middle school homec class (without giving away my age, let's just say it was a really freaking long time ago). I figure a net doesn't have to look nice, fit well, or be water proff, perfect starter for sewing!
May 24, 2011 at 8:10 am #1740447OK, I know this is not an exciting project. I have learned how to operate the sewing machine and have a basic pattern in mind. What kind of stitch should I use in netting? Should I just roll the edges? Please help the sewing impared.
