I am planning a 2 or 3 night trip in Shenandoah National Park around May 22-24. What's the flying/biting bug situation this time of year? I have never hike in this area before.

There will be some gnats/flies/mosquitos buzzing about occasionally but I've never found them to be in high concentration except around some streams.
