A friend and I will be in Colorado for a wedding this summer and thought we might go for a short (2-4 days) backpacking trip and are looking for suggestions. Some criteria we have are:

No more than 15 miles a day and a reasonable distance from Colorado Springs. It can have portions off trail, but it would need to be easy navigation. We'd also like good views (easy to find in Colorado) and solitude. It would also be nice to have a big chunk of time above or near the tree line.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You can be to the Lost Creek Wilderness and one of a few trailheads pretty easily from Colorado Springs. The Sangre de Cristos are a couple hours away as is Buena Vista. The most obvious trip will be the primary loop in the Lost Creek Wilderness from the Goose Creek TH. In mid-June there will likely still be quite a bit of snow up high, that might affect your plans to get above treeline depending on where you are. But focus in on these three areas I think.
