Just some pictures snapped while snowshoeing around the Sandias over the last few weekends. My usual winter training until daylight savings time and backpacking (if I gotta train, may as well be here).

    The 10K trail under snow…

Ok now I see how this area works … just some more pics adding some from the Crest in wintertime

Blue sky towards Crest Going up the hill ….
    Up the hill...
Just a view but later found out this is a XC ski danger area
Just a view area showing the city below ... later found that this is a XC ski danger area
Looking east … often see hawks, eagles, et al soaring on thermals from the valley
    Looking back
… and looking down the west face ..Looking down on the west face

People can just take the tram, but then they miss out on all the lung-busting exercise.

XC skiers up above but they were soon hiking right after this point
    XC skiers in front

The mountains change through the seasons and hopefully I can capture that.

Great pictures. I miss that place. If you go the rock house in the winter, be careful, especially if you're alone and climb onto the roof at 1 AM… If you hike to the TWA crash site, I'd enjoy some pictures.
