Oct 28, 2010 at 11:32 am #1658950Sam, can you clarify this for me. In the description paragraph, it reads…"A highly water-resistant bathtub floor keeps water out while the highly-breathable top-fabric lets perspiration breathe out of and away from your sleep system."
But in Ryan's description squib/review on the page it's described that "The use of a breathable, but still ultralight AND waterproof floor fabric, makes this bivy virtually condensation free."
Also, again in the bullet points following, it says: Waterproof-Breathable floor fabric
So which is it? highly water resistent or waterproof/breathable?
Also, is the floor material eVent?
Oct 28, 2010 at 12:11 pm #1658974Sam, how long is the zipper? I'm wondering how easy it is to get in/out of the bivy.
Oct 28, 2010 at 5:09 pm #1659065Hello
Does anyone know what the dimensions are through the chest/shoulders. I would like to support BPL, but the lack of info is frustrating.
Thanks Jim
Oct 28, 2010 at 6:17 pm #1659089The bottom is wp/b but not eVent. My guess is Pertex Endurance.
Honestly, I don't know of any fabric that is both 100% waterproof and breathable. There are plenty (eVent, sil, spinnaker, etc.) that are functionally waterproof for our purposes though.
Sam or a buyer will have to measure the shoulder width as I don't have one accessible to me.
Oct 29, 2010 at 6:12 pm #1659417Hello all
So here I am waiting for answers to two simple questions. Width of new product and will BPL keep up their promise. Free ground shipping for prepurchases to Mlife members?
If a month ahead is not a prepurchase? What is? Who is responsible for product info? Do you not have an example of your own product to measure?
I wanted to order one of these today. Now time is running out. Mlife was a way to support BPL and I will not second guess my decision to subscribe. However someone is droping the ball on this one.
Thanks Jim
