I just finished my twelfth trip over the last twelve months.

I'll concede straight away that twelve trips in twelve months is not any sort of exceptional achievement, especially among this crowd. It's really more of a personal goal set-and-met sort of thing.

Prior to the first month (October '09), I had completed two trips for three nights out in the M.A.E. (Middle Age Era). Previous to that were a couple of trips in the pre-historic T.A.E. (Teen Age Era).

Once I got a couple of trips under my belt, I thought it would be fun to try to spend at least one night out in each of the next twelve consecutive months. Having a goal like this would also force me to make plans and prevent too much time from slipping by between trips.

The only rules were that I had to be outside and not in my backyard.

And before I go too far, THANK YOU JENNIFER!!

    Here's where I went:

October '09 – Trinity Alps, "L" Lake, two nights.

November '09 – Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park, stealth camping, one night.

December '09 – Pinecrest Group Camp, Winter gear test, one night.

January '10 – Pt. Reyes National Seashore, Bay Area BPL Group Hike, one night.

February '10 – Dodge Ridge Loop, snow camping!, one night.

March '10 – Dodge Ridge Loop, snow camping again, one night.

April '10 – Kings National Forest, Lost Coast, two nights.

May '10 – Big Basin State Park, a "24" trip, one night.

June '10 – Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne, three nights.

July '10 – Washougal MX Park, motocross races, one night.

August '10 – Trinity Alps, Four Lake Loop, three nights.

August/September '10 – Tehipite Valley to Florence Lake, eight nights.

A total of twenty-five nights out.

I want to go somewhere in October to breathe some of that Fall air, then the BA-BPL trip in January and some snow camping.

Thanks for reading, if you made it this far. And, again, thanks to Jennifer!!

Great idea for preventing procrastination. And I like the focus on getting out to visit your local parks. Thanks for posting.
