Skurka's nearing the end of his Alaska-Yukon Expedition: Here's a video of some scenic portions:
Sep 3, 2010 at 9:42 am #1642801What a satisfying video! And such an inspiration!
Sep 3, 2010 at 9:59 am #1642803Does anyone know what the make/model of the red boat is?
See at this point in the video:

Here is a link to his gearlist for the trip.http://www.andrewskurka.com/AK10/gearlists.php
I'm certain it is an Alpacka Packraft but don't know the model.

Hope that helps.
Sep 3, 2010 at 10:51 am #1642815Andy got a custom boat from Alpacka. I think the side tubes (black) are smaller and lighter than the standard boats.
Sep 3, 2010 at 11:18 am #1642830nice video! thanks for sharing it here!
Sep 3, 2010 at 12:11 pm #1642841Roman, your music always blows my mind and I dj professionally part time. How do you select it?
Sep 3, 2010 at 11:15 pm #1642948Thank you, Steven and David.

My kids keep me up to date with new music….the sounds that feel like the trip are the ones that seem to fit. Sometimes I hear a song and I know I want to use it — other times I do the trip and then find the song/tune.
Sep 7, 2010 at 5:33 pm #1643779Hi Roman,
Nice video (good like your others of his trek). I too like your music and also have two sons that keep me updated. : )
I saw on Twitter that Skurka finished on September 5 at 10:22 pm.
NG has a 8/30 blog post as the latest update. C'mon guys at NG – get to work.
Do you know how NG will report the trek? Hope there will be a documentary.
Thanks for your coverage and effort!

The plan is for a couple dozen pages in the so-called "Yellow Book" in early 2011.
The Geographic is a volatile place where the editors pride themselves on "killing more good stories than most magazines run", so here's hoping that one of the finest adventure athletes of our times gets the photo coverage that one of the finest photographers in the Magazine can deliver. And the writer is great too!
PS — here's to our great kids!
Sep 8, 2010 at 11:15 pm #1644103the video is not available. What's wrong there????

Looking forward to its publication. Hard to believe NG would pass on the story.
Hopefully, Skurka will also make a tour around the country so we can all hear him tell is story.
