Hi I am new to the forum, and I would like to sew up a waterproof pack that is tough and not too heavy.
I've seen a lot of designs using this heat sealable packcloth and oxford, and I would like to give it a try.

Unfortunately I've only seen it online and I can't just check it out at a local fabric shop and talk with the store clerk about it.
for those with experience, I have a few questions about it:
1. is it really completely waterproof?
2. will the coating rub off (I've had coatings easily shred off on some store purchased packs)
3.how much will it shrink when I heat seal it- will I be able to expect clean lines when using this?
4. do you recommend a different fabric for strength and waterproofness?thanks for the help and the design inspirations you have already given me.
