    Is it possible?
Extremtextil.de have new fabric called dermizax.

Properties: PU-membrane with no pores, waterproof (20000mm), breathable (10.000 g/24h/m2).

I need waterproof socks like trekmates and those are too expensive for me. So is it possible to make it my self?

    It is possible.
I'm just finishing second version of such a socks. The first one was made of GTX Paclite, it was ligt and lasted for a while, but is not really waterproof any more. The new ones are made of 3 layer goretex, so I hope they will be more durable and worth the double weight. Sealing the seams with tape is not easy, but doable.

    PM me for a pattern.

    Hi Timo

Probably, with some experiment. How? Dunno – let us know how you go!
A last the shape of your foot would be ideal – but the fabric would need to have enough stretch that you can get the socks off. Of course, you need to be able to get the socks off your feet too!

    Cheers

I made mine to be both a VB and a waterproof sock.
