    @geppetto425

    I'm fairly new to ultralight backpacking and of course on a budget. Been getting ready for a 50 miler with the scouts, leaving in 2 weeks for Goat Rocks, WA. Anyway I want to get lighter gear, I'm down to 9.5 lbs for my bag, pack and tent but I want to get around 5 lbs and switch to a tarp and quilt. My question is does anyone make pre-cut kits to sew up? Thanks!!!

    Quest Outfitters and Thru-Hiker.com have kits as well as rayway.com (Ray Jardene).

    i don't think any of the kits are pre-cut though. Scissors required.

    Also a down quilt is a tough first project. Though i know of no kit synthetic quilts are very easy to make and i am more than willing to share everything i know and the tricks i use.
