Another: wind pants or rain pants?

Let's see, how to put this mildly …
Dryskin pants won't keep you dry in any sort of steady rain, nor will they keep you warm once they're wet. They also won't stop the wind very well. They will however, take forever to dry. They are many things, but they are not a replacement for hardshells in cold rain. Now EPIC pants seem to work great, at least for me when it's cold. In warmer weather I use a skirt.
in cool weather the epic fabric breathes well and is sufficiently water resistant to keep me happy. paired-up with the hooded wind shirt i'm pretty-much set for all but the worst weather.
