Anybody know if 0.7mm painter's plastic has a chance to serve as a ground cloth?

    Dennis,

I use even thinner stuff for 1-2 night trips. Wouldn't want to rely on it for much longer than that, though. Punctures come easy. Yours' will fare a little better.

Advantages are the lightest weight, and cheap.

Disadvantage is it just won't last.

I use 0.7mm paint drop cloth as a ground sheet.
It lasts about 5-7 nights. Longer if you want to patch it
with tape, but since it only costs a dollar, I just replace
it with a clean, fresh drop cloth.
