In late February I started a hike in the Grand Canyon by going down the Kaibab Trail. A trail crew of about 30, men and women, mostly volunteers, were rebuilding major sections. (Mules are off the Kaibab this year, so hiking it is a Real pleasure.)
This Grinder turns small rocks into gravel.
Which get wheeled down to the needy section.
Here is one section getting rebuilt from the ground up.
Big boulders are used to waterbar and bound the trail. This guy winches them up.
This guy does the steering.
These folks build the bins.
And this guy fills them up, one bucket at a time.My hat is off to them!
