I stopped by the grand opening of the REI in Santa Monica this weekend and the clerk mentioned that I could use the anniversary sale discount any number of times. I had no idea; I guess I could even have split my order up and gotten back in line. That wasn’t very tempting since it would have only saved me an additional $1.20. And for mail order the fixed shipping cost would eat up most or all the savings. But if you had some big purchases to make in person it could definitely make sense to buy them one at a time for 20% off each.
