Hey guys, I'm going to do the JMT this summer. I'm already looking into making my own bivy sack, since i don't want to deal with a tarp or tent. I plan on trying to fish as many meals as possible, so, I thought: Why not get a carbon fiber blank, and try to make my own collapsible trekking pole that converts to a fishing pole. I've seen other homemade poles that weigh in at 4-6 oz. Do you guys have any advice or ideas, and is that possible?
