I've noticed a fair amount of you (us?) from NW Oregon. Do you guys wanna meet up? I have no agenda… Swap stories? Plan a trip? Beer and Hummus plates? (I don't know…) Is there any point?
We can meet at my store (caveat: its in Milwaukie) The Lab? The Circuit climbing gym (on Macadam), its pretty centrally located. Any suggestions?
Now I feel stupid:(
Yes, Vancouver…you can come too.(sigh)

PN2Wind?
Feb 6, 2010 at 2:44 pm #1570548I tried to get some BPLers up in W. Pa but had no success.
It worked well in MN and the Bay area but not sure why? I know MN has other yahoo groups (hiker@yahoo) that people know each other from.
Oh well
Feb 6, 2010 at 2:46 pm #1570549Maybe we should move to the Bay area. If we both win the lottery we could maybe split a house. I cant believe I didn't even get a single reply- WEAK!
Maybe if I were a member…
Feb 6, 2010 at 3:02 pm #1570556I hear ya. Tried in MidAtlantic and only got one reply. I guess some areas are just a bit more individualistic than others….
Feb 6, 2010 at 3:26 pm #1570569Maybe this might help….Ken T. has been talking about getting a BPLer weekend trip up his way at the CA/OR Boarder area?
Maybe we can all hook up at that gathering?
No specific date has been put forth, but something April to July????
Would love to meet with other BPLers.
So kinda meeting you half way?

Feb 6, 2010 at 4:21 pm #1570596Definitely interested but we (my wife and I) get little time off and have already gotten plane tickets to fly down south and run some "race through history" 10K "race". More of a benefit or something, than competitive.
We could still find something in that time period, but it would have to be 3 days-ish.
Bummer man, finding time is harder than finding spots to get to.
May 4, 2011 at 10:05 am #1732858Alright, I'm gonna bump this with all the activity I see from the area.
My initial thought is to do a meetup somewhere halfway between Seattle and Portland in mid to late June. We could hike in a few miles with the option to stay overnight (or bring a grill?)
Somewhere around the St. Helens Coldwater area would be about 1.5+ hours from Portland and 2.5+ hours from Seattle, but I'm open to all kinds of ideas (places closer to I-5?)
What say you? We're really going to let Californians one-up us?
May 4, 2011 at 1:30 pm #1732938I would be keen for a halfway between seattle and portland or so in early June.
May 4, 2011 at 1:40 pm #1732947+1 on between Seattle + Portland. I'd be game.
May 4, 2011 at 3:56 pm #1733011I would be interested in this as well.
May 4, 2011 at 5:40 pm #1733063"We're really going to let Californians one-up us?"
Been no contest so far. 3 years running. 4th one is already planned. So Cal even pulled one off recently. We even pulled people in from back east. You guys need to try harder;)
May 4, 2011 at 5:44 pm #1733064"You guys need to try harder;)"
They've been trying?
May 4, 2011 at 5:51 pm #1733068Oooh Slap!
May 4, 2011 at 5:52 pm #1733070Come on down next year and we'll show you how it's done. It's easy. Free beer helps.
May 4, 2011 at 5:57 pm #1733073ahhh man the smack down has started…..we are the longest running group….However I love the fact that you all are trying to be like us! Have fun guys…pics are needed!!!!
As Ken T. has stated, if any of you would like to come down to hang with us, you are more than welcome to join.
May 5, 2011 at 9:50 am #1733329oo
May 5, 2011 at 10:43 am #1733350I'd be in in late June or early July, between Seattle and Portland, or any time over the summer (I'm a teacher with loads of free time in July and August)
I tried this a couple years ago w/ no luck, but I wasn't very good with the follow through. Maybe this will be better.
May 5, 2011 at 10:47 am #1733353Chris started a new thread for planning this trip over here.
