Where are you going to be hiking in the Kaniksu? I was up there in '07. Sorry about not commenting on the gearlist but am a bit too busy with work right now.

I was planning to drop by Wanless Lake and then drop in on a couple smaller lakes in the Kootenai. Iā€™d love to hear about other destinations in the Cabinet Mountains, if you have any ideas.

    Thanks

Your sleeping bag is one of the heaviest things on the list, but this will cost a lot and you prob will need the warmth in early spring.

The duomid would help with some weight for sure. Are you using a ground cloth at all? Just wondering?

Your rain jacket/pant setup is a little on the heavier side. If it's only for 3 days just pick up a dri drucks suit for $20.

Are you not going to be wearing your gaiters?

And I don't know if you like the hydration bladder, but you could get a little lighter with a 2L platy and like a gatorade or dasani bottle to drink with.
