Inov-8 contacted me this morning noting they'd like to offer Backpacking Light readers 30% off select models of their shoes from now until December 31st.
1. Register at http://store.inov-8.us (opens in new window)
2. Select from the Roclite 370, 390 GTX, Mudclaws, or the Roclite 315 (color silver) models.
3. Enter coupon code: BPL105 to receive a 30% discount.Oct 5, 2009 at 11:03 am #1533130
Didn't work for me, but looks like everything is on sale.
-TimOct 5, 2009 at 11:04 am #1533131
Well that is a huge temptation!
But two things …
1) they already list the Roclite 390 GTX at $95 … more than 30% off the $160 MSRP
2) not to be greedy or anything (heh-heh) but I'd try that coupon code on the sale price and it repied that the code was invalid … same result trying it on Roclite 315's (which are not on sale).
Maybe they announced the code before they programmed it?Oct 5, 2009 at 11:24 am #1533142

Not working for me either. If someone gets this to work please let us know because I would love to have a pair of 370's.Oct 5, 2009 at 12:00 pm #1533156
I've contacted Inov-8 to see if they have any words of wisdom to share regarding the coupon code.Oct 5, 2009 at 12:20 pm #1533162

First thing this morning I looked at the website and most shoes were listed in the 44.00 to 48.00 dollar range. Now, many of the low prices have been removed and listed at full price….
Did we uncover a pricing mistake, and give them a heads up to fix it?

I am interested but don't know how their sizing runs. Can anyone tell me if they run large or small or just right?Oct 5, 2009 at 12:44 pm #1533176
From the folks at Inov-8:
…coupons must be applied in the cart, not during checkout. Perhaps not
very logical but that's the way the system is set up. Customers must click the "My Cart" link and apply coupons there before checking out. If this still doesn't work, feel free to tell your readership the office number here, and we'll process an order for them manually with the discounts.Oct 5, 2009 at 1:13 pm #1533185
No workee. But they're out of my size in the 370s anyway.Oct 5, 2009 at 1:20 pm #1533188
still no go (3:15pmCST) … did they provide a phone number in that communication? (not finding a number on that website)Oct 5, 2009 at 1:41 pm #1533200

One pair of oversized 390GTX are on their way, 30% off an already attractive sale price and in time to test ideas from Will R's Lightweight Footwear Systems for Snow Travel series in the upcoming winter … how nice is that!?
Deals that good make me wonder if certain models are being phased out.Oct 6, 2009 at 10:29 am #1533531

I purchased a pair of boots from them this morning. I had to call in order to use the coupon. She told me they are having problems with it on the website. But ended up with a pair of Roclite 390 GTXs for $66.95 plus shipping. Can't complain about that.Oct 8, 2009 at 11:07 am #1534299

How much did you size up? 1 full size or 1.5?
I plan to use liner sock/vapor barrier/ & mid or heavyweight wool sock combo myself-as article suggests.Nov 5, 2009 at 11:47 pm #1543289
I usually wear a 13 sneaker and have used the 390's in a 14. They're excellent. Extremely lightweight and comfortable. I just ordered a second pair with this sale. Couldn't pass up the opportunity. I ordered the 370's too. Thanks, EricNov 6, 2009 at 7:34 am #1543343

What about the other clearance models on the page? Does this apply to 310, 300, 335, 320?Nov 10, 2009 at 6:14 am #1544205

Well I just called and placed an order. They ended up giving me full 30 off everything. 390 gtx/flites(gym/road) and some gaiters. He hooked it. Flites were also in clearance. I'm not sure they would do it again for me though. Right time, right person.
