not exactly UL… but what a delicious idea… good thinking Jeff!!!
Jul 27, 2009 at 4:44 am #1516736I have a friend who carried beer in a similar way.
The best one I have heard was from a guy I bumped into on the trail, later to become a friend, who once took an ice cream cake out hiking for a surprise birthday. He apparently packed it with dry ice.
Cheers
Jul 27, 2009 at 6:58 am #1516745Actually Laurie, it was quite light. The ice was used for other purposes, the ice cream was in small containers. In the end we had 1/2 an ounce or so of garbage to take back.
Ice is a heavy item that is still UL – once melted you have cold water. Or you do as we did and dump it on our selves and take a bath.
Jul 27, 2009 at 9:55 am #1516777I had a friend/co-worker do that for us once… but she did it the uber heavy way and used a thermos (wrapped her sleeping bag around it to keep it insulated).
Awesome. Just plain awesome.
