Howdy
a few friends and I are planning a thru-hike of the PCT for next summer. Only problem is that we're all either biologists or teachers in training (i.e. POOR!). What would our chances of seeking any sort of sponsership be?
Not anything crazy but maybe enough to cover some of our costs.
We all have gear and are experienced backcountry travellers.Thoughts?
May 1, 2009 at 2:30 pm #1498373But Andrew Skurka has a blurb about sponsOrship on his website: http://www.andrewskurka.com
Learning to spell it right might be a good start. =)

May 3, 2009 at 8:08 am #1498705For a couple of non-famous first time long distance hikers, getting actual cash is highly unlikely. But that's coming from me, who is perhaps the only case of it actually ever happening. I got paid to GPS the trail by Backpacker Mag. I did backpacker.com/pct and no, they probably don't want to pay you to do it again.
