I recently got my hands on a sewing machine and was thinking of trying to make a tarp tent and a sleeping bag. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to start? I've searched the internet for a basic design to get me started, but I can't seem to find any.

Study all of them- good luck.

Edit: Oh, you said tarp tent, not tarp…even if you don't need one, it would probably be a good idea to start with a stuff sack.
