It's looking like the John Muir Trail will be heating up this summer.
There will be at least 1 in both the Unsupported and the Supported attempts.
The "who" are the surprises!
Not so much shocking but defiantly worth keeping a close eye on.For the supported this time will be Michael Popov.
Michael is going all out to be Mr. JMT by trying to obtain both records. Now if Michael gets the supported record, right behind him will be "Flyin" Brian Robinson to go for the Unsupported Record.
Brain was ahead of even the current supported time on his attempt when he got lost the last night 12 miles from the end.I will be crewing for Michael so fell free to shot any questions this way.
Here is the info for Brian’s Supported attempt and Michael’s Unsupported record.

Sounds like you will be having some fun.
I had read Brian's last attempt about him losing the trail.
Since his was a supported attempt could his crew have dropped "chem light sticks" on the trail so he could see where to go at night?
They could have followed along later and picked them up as we all do the LNT bit.
Are there any rules to this record setting stuff?

Rules, what rules; Isn't it MOST SUPPORTED anyway?
The chickens are already on the list!We will be pre-hiking the final day where everbody keeps getting lost for some reason and program some good way points going from the Red Comes all the way to the Merced River at the iffy spots.
