As I sit here looking out at the snow and wind I thought I would share some pictures and information from a weekend SUL trip in August to the Eagle Cap Wilderness in eastern Oregon.

The Eagle Cap is a beautiful mixture of snow and ice, lakes, wildflowers and fine trails. This was a solo loop trip of about 25 miles.

Pictures are located at this URL:

Major equipment used on this trip:

    Zpack Zilch
    BMW SpinTarp X-Lite
    BMW Nano Bivy Sack
    BMW TorsoLite
    Nunatak Arc Specialist
    Gossamer Gear Thinlight 1/8" pad
    GG Lightrek poles
    Patagonia Specter
    Montbell Thermawrap
    BMW FireLite 500
    Mini-Bull elite alcohol stove

Total base weight 5.3 pounds, total carried 8.75 pounds.

    Thinking of spring…

Enjoyed the pictures. Made me want to head up to the mountains to just sit and appreciate the scenery.
